India’s Outstanding Performance at Glasgow Commonwealth Games:

  • India registered one of its best performances by winning historic medals across Judo, Athletics, Boxing, and Lawn Bowls.
  • Asmita Dey became India’s first-ever Commonwealth Games Judo gold medallist by winning the Women’s 48 kg category, while Harsh Singh won gold in the Men’s 60 kg event, making it India’s best-ever Judo campaign with 2 Gold and 1 Silver.
  • In Athletics, Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra secured the silver medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw with a season-best effort of 85.83 m, while Yashvir Singh won bronze with a personal best.
  • Tejaswin Shankar created history by becoming the first Indian to win a Commonwealth Games medal in Decathlon, claiming the bronze medal.
  • In Lawn Bowls, Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar maintained their unbeaten run in the Men’s Pairs, while Nayanmoni Saikia won her Women’s Singles match.
