India-Singapore Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 Begins

Why in the News ?

The 14th edition of the India-Singapore joint military exercise, Bold Kurukshetra 2025, commenced in Jodhpur. It aims to enhance interoperability and joint training under a UN mandate, focusing on mechanised warfare using tabletop exercises and computer-based wargaming.

Exercise Objectives and Format:

● Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 is being conducted as a tabletop exercise and computer-based wargame.

● The focus is on validating operational procedures for mechanised warfare.

● It enhances interoperability and builds joint operational capabilities of both armies.

● The exercise promotes UN-mandated peacekeeping readiness and joint mission coordination.

● It will culminate with an equipment display by the Indian Army.

Bilateral Defence Cooperation

● The exercise involves the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade.

● From India, the Mechanised Infantry Regiment is participating.

● It reflects the growing India-Singapore defence partnership and deepens strategic trust.

● The exercise fosters mutual understanding in tactical and operational military domains.

● It supports regional security through joint preparedness and training.
