Why in the News?

The 13th edition of Exercise KHANJAR, a joint military drill between India and Kyrgyzstan, commenced at Misamari in Assam, aiming to enhance special forces interoperability, counter-terrorism preparedness, and bilateral defence cooperation under a UN-mandated operations framework. The exercise also promotes environmental democracy by incorporating eco-friendly practices in military operations.
