1. India–Belgium Cooperation Strengthened

India and Belgium signed several agreements covering defence cooperation, renewable energy, semiconductors, critical minerals and technology. The initiatives are expected to strengthen bilateral relations, industrial collaboration and strategic engagement between the two countries. Ministry of External Affairs

2. RAKSHA Defence Diplomacy Framework

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the RAKSHA framework, a ten-year roadmap for India’s defence diplomacy. It focuses on strategic partnerships, capacity building, indigenous defence exports and maritime security.

3. Agentic AI Skilling Programmes

NIELIT and Intel India launched two Agentic AI skilling programmes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The programmes will provide industry-oriented training and prepare students and professionals for an AI-driven economy.

4. Ahuti Mk II Sets UAV Speed Record

Hyderabad-based Apollyon Dynamics developed Ahuti Mk II, an electric multirotor interceptor UAV. It achieved a certified speed of 498 kilometres per hour and was recognised by the India Book of Records as India’s fastest multirotor UAV.

5. ISRO Launches EOS-05 Satellite

ISRO successfully launched the GSLV-F17 mission on September 4, 2026, placing the EOS-05 Earth-observation satellite into its intended orbit. The mission will strengthen India’s remote-sensing capabilities and support applications such as agriculture, environmental monitoring and disaster management. ISRO

6. Sujal Gaon ID for Rural Water Governance

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Ministry of Jal Shakti is implementing Sujal Gaon IDs to digitally identify and monitor rural drinking-water service areas. By August 10, 2026, IDs had been issued to around 75% of India’s rural habitations. Press Information Bureau

7. India–Vietnam Maritime Exercise

The Indian Coast Guard and Vietnam Coast Guard conducted the second edition of the Sahyog-HOP TAC exercise. It focused on maritime security, search-and-rescue coordination, pollution response and operational cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

8. GIFT City Expands Global Financial Role

GIFT City’s International Financial Services Centre continues to expand its role in foreign-currency funding, external commercial borrowings and international bond issuances. These developments strengthen India’s integration with global capital markets and support its ambition to establish GIFT City as a major international financial hub.
