Israeli forces have launched the first phase of a ground offensive in Gaza City, targeting Hamas strongholds in Zeitoun and Jabalia. The move has drawn sharp international condemnation amid ongoing ceasefire proposals by Qatar and Egypt and worsening humanitarian conditions in the Palestinian enclave. This military campaign has raised concerns about the future of a potential Palestinian state and the broader implications for regional stability.

Ground Offensive and Military Objectives:

● Israeli troops initiated the first steps of their planned Gaza City offensive as part of broader military operations in the region.

● Forces are operating in Zeitoun and Jabalia, securing positions for a larger military operation in Gaza City.

● Defence Minister Israel Katz approved the plan, awaiting review by the security cabinet. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to make a final decision on the full-scale offensive.
